CPYP COUNTY SECOND YEAR PLANS

In the spring of 2005, CPYP began work with ten California counties: Contra Costa, Fresno, Humboldt, Kern, Los Angeles (metro north region), Orange, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Luis Obispo, and Sonoma. Now that their work is well underway, CPYP asked the counties to develop a work plan for April 1, 2007 to March 31, 2008 which addressed the following key components:

  1. Review of the first year plan-note successes, challenges, surprises and work still to complete along with the strategies and timeframes to complete them.

  2. Technical assistance (TA) plan for the year, including work with Dr. Darla Henry (when will the training begin, what partners will be invited, what are the hoped-for results).

  3. How champions will be developed, internally and externally. How many champions can be identified now, and what is the projected target in a year?

  4. The remaining number of youth in the original target group of 12. How many youth in the county are now receiving permanency services? How many more do are intended to be enrolled in a year?

  5. How many people/positions are allocated to perform this work? What new resources will be sought or created, and how many people/positions are projected to be performing this work in a year?

  6. What external partners are engaged to do this work, and what ongoing training will be provided to teach new partners to bring them on board?

  7. What are the expectations of managers and supervisors of the work? What is the training plan to bring new supervisor and staff up to speed?

  8. What is the plan to provide ongoing support for the work (monthly permanency meetings, highlight of successes, etc?)

  9. Please note any sibling or adoption work (inclusive of grants and projects) being done that is promoting permanency
